Tech track

Embedded Systems

Program and test hardware: microcontrollers, sensors and the code that runs on them.

Placement depends on what each team has open, so pick this track as your first or second choice in the form.

What you will work on

Three tasks from the kind of work interns do in this track. Yours depend on the team you join.

[REVIEW: real examples from group companies]

  1. Read a sensor and log the data

Wire up a sensor, write the firmware to read it, and log clean readings over serial or to a dashboard.

  2. Write a test plan for a device

List what can go wrong with power, timing and inputs, then test each case and record the results.

  3. Fix a timing or power bug

Use a logic analyser or debug prints to find why a device misbehaves, and fix it.

What your mentor checks

Your mentor is someone from the team. They review what you submit every week and ask questions like these. [REVIEW: how often]

  • Did you read the datasheet before guessing?
  • Does your test plan include the failure cases?
  • Are your readings repeatable?
  • Are your wiring and code written up for the next person?

Skills you will use

You do not need all of these on day one. Our free trainings cover the basics, and you learn the rest on the project.

  • C for microcontrollers
  • Arduino, ESP32 or STM32
  • Reading datasheets
  • UART, I2C and SPI
  • Multimeter and logic analyser
  • Test plans

Questions about this track

Do I need my own hardware?

For office roles, the team gives you the kit. For online roles, you may need a basic board. We tell you before you start. [REVIEW]

Is this only for ECE students?

ECE and EEE students fit best, but computer science students who like hardware are welcome too.

Which degree fits?

B.Tech or B.E. in ECE, EEE, instrumentation or computer science. [REVIEW]

Is there any fee?

No. There is no fee to apply, no fee to join and no fee for the certificate. If anyone asks you for money in our name, do not pay, and tell us.

What if this track has no open seats?

We talk about your second choice. If neither fits, you can join a free training and apply again for the next batch.
